​Aaron Stratten began his bonsai journey over 30 years ago.  He has been a member of NVBS since 2016, served as NVBS president for 5 years (2018-2022), and as PBA president for two years (2023-2024).  Aaron is an artist, art educator, and potter.  He has led several ceramic workshops for the members of NVBS and shares his knowledge in the art of bonsai and ceramics through his YouTube channel (@aaronstratten9594) and a bonsai blog called Bonsai Iterate.  Although Aaron’s collection of bonsai includes a variety of species, such as, azaleas, beech, boxwood, ficus, hornbeam, juniper, maples, pines, and many more, he is especially interested in boxwoods and deciduous species like beech, hornbeam, and maples.  Aaron lives in Woodbridge, Virginia and is available for one-on-one mentoring.  You can contact Aaron at acstratten@gmail.com.
